M.I.A. Reviews!
The past year was once again filled to the brim with new releases. Almost on a daily basis, new albums, demos, EPs and singles were unleashed, coming from all corners of the underground and beyond. The sheer volume of new music made it simply impossible to listen to every release in detail, let alone give each of them a proper review.
As a result, quite a few interesting, strong or downright impressive releases inevitably slipped through the cracks. Records that may have received little promotion, were released at an unfortunate moment, or were simply overshadowed by the constant flood of new material.
Between Christmas and New Year, we therefore take the time to shine a light on a selection of these so-called “lost” releases. In this period of reflection, we revisit and rediscover music that deserves more attention, giving these releases the spotlight they may not have received when they first appeared.
For many of these releases, it still holds true that they are absolutely worth checking out, there are without a doubt a number of real hidden gems among them.
A brief housekeeping note:
For the past few weeks, we have been dealing with a JSOP error on our website whenever we try to post a new article. This is a particularly tricky issue, and our webmaster is currently working on resolving it. As a result, the site has experienced some technical problems in recent days, such as non-functioning YouTube links.
Most likely, in the first week of 2026, the entire website will be taken offline for a few days so that we can reinstall and fully update the platform.
