Originally released in 2006, this demo never saw a physical edition—until now. The story of Necrobeast, however, began a year earlier in 2005, when the band first came to life in Valdivia, Chile. Around that same time, this very first demo was recorded, which has since circulated as a true cult document within the underground scene.
Following its release, Necrobeast didn’t remain idle: the band went on to put out two split releases with Morphetik, a project that clearly shared musical DNA. Notably, the only remaining member of Necrobeast, Seb Reyes, has also been active within Morphetik, ensuring that both bands stayed closely connected over the years.
Now, twenty years later, Sebastian Reyes has settled in the picturesque city of Maastricht, the Netherlands. From this new home base, the circle is finally complete: Brutal Insanity Records has taken on the task of breathing new life into the old demo and giving it an official tape release for the very first time. At last, a piece of Chilean underground history receives the physical edition it has always deserved.
Musically, Necrobeast leaves no doubt about its roots. With influences from legendary acts such as Sabbat, Sarcófago, and Desaster, the band firmly belongs to the raw corner of Black/Thrash Metal. Add a subtle touch of early ’90s Scandinavian Black Metal, and you get the venomous identity that defines Necrobeast.
In terms of production, you need to place this demo firmly in the era it was created. Don’t expect polished studio work—this is raw, unfiltered, and honest, exactly the kind of sound that embodied the underground feeling of the mid-2000s. That uncompromising approach only adds to the nostalgia and charm of this reissue.
The tape contains four striking tracks that proudly wear their influences on their sleeves. What you get is pure, uncompromising Black/Thrash Metal in the finest ’80s tradition, sharpened with that distinctive Norwegian chill of the early ’90s. The result is an aggressive yet captivating listening experience that will immediately strike a chord with fans of the genre—raw, intense, and irresistibly fierce.
A nice addition to you Tape-collection.
