The Medieval Hagiography first came to life in 1992, when two handmade A5 issues were released. Back then, the entire magazine was literally cut and pasted together by hand – a true DIY creation born out of passion for underground music, art, and culture. Each page carried a personal touch, reflecting the spirit of the early zine era.
In mid-2025, the idea emerged to breathe new life into The Medieval Hagiography and start again from the very beginning, with a brand-new first edition. The goal is to once more celebrate the underground and independent scene, but this time through a professionally printed A5 magazine.
With this revival, we aim to bring selected interviews, features, and reviews from our online platform into the tangible world — a return to the beauty of physical media in an increasingly digital age. The printed edition is not merely a nostalgic gesture, but a continuation of the same DIY ethos that inspired the original issues more than three decades ago.
